Hi. I would be going to nz in late october and a short stop by mount cook national park is definitely on the list. But Im with my parents and my younger siblings who are not really fit for a 3.5 hour walk. Do you think just taking the short 30 minutes walk to the first swing bridge is good enough? I mean can you get a nice view from the 1st swing bridge? (Because Idk if the picture above is of the 1st or 2nd swing bridge) or do you recommend us for the 1 hour walk?

    • Hi Ryan, if I remember correctly, the picture above is that of the first swing bridge so I think that the 30 mins walk would be good enough to get a decent view.

I’d still recommend the 1 hour walk though, because 30 mins to me seems a little too short to really be able to soak in the surroundings, which are STUNNING. 😉

    • Hi Suz, thanks so much! :)

Hmm, I wouldn’t recommend walking the trail in the dark as:
      1. You wouldn’t get to full appreciate the sights and views
      2. There are some uneven portions that would make it potentially dangerous to walk.

Let me know what you decide to do and how you get on! :)
