I’m well aware that I’ve been neglecting my beloved blog lately. This post isn’t a nice lengthy one to make up for this, but it should hopefully do as a holding post for now.
I recently returned from beautiful Paris a few weeks ago. Paris is by no means a new destination for me, but I like visiting every so often as it’s a quick and convenient ride away on the Eurostar for me.
To take a different route from the usual post, I thought I’d do a short “Paris in Instagram photos” post for this trip. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen these photos already, but they sum up my short weekend there pretty well.
This trip was a little different from my usual money-conscious holidays, as we decided to give ourselves a little treat and indulge in the luxury that Paris offers in abundance. Our hotel (read hotel, not Airbnb, not bed and breakfast and not hostel!) was located just off of the Champs Elysees in a very nice part of town.
We stayed away from the tourist traps along the Champs Elysees though, and opted for breakfast at a traditional French cafe where I ordered a good old crepe with Nutella and banana. It never fails to disappoint.
With a day as nice as this was, it was a good decision to head up Montmarte for the views and to stroll by the Sacré-Cœur.
We thought we earned ourselves this little treat after all of the uphill walking!
With the sun setting, we walked through the Tuileries Gardens, people watching the people watchers.
Dinner was a fancy affair at a Michelin starred restaurant. We opted for the tasting menu which consisted of 6 courses. This was the second-to-last dish. Suffice to say we went to bed feeling extremely satisfied with our meal that night!
The next day, our last day, was spent walking through central Paris. This was our last stop before heading to the Gare du Nord for our train back to London. Who could resist?
