This website has always been a personal blog, heavily reflective of my personal life, experiences and style of travelling. It therefore only makes sense that it evolves with me as time goes by, for it to continue remaining relevant and personal to me.
As long time readers might have realised, the frequency of my posts and my travel style have changed compared to my initial few posts, when I was first setting off on my extended period of travel. After spending 5 months on the road, I returned to London, relinquished my nomadic life, and started to work on the next stage of my professional life. There have been lots of changes in that aspect of my life, but at the expense of needing to be more careful with my money (i.e. rebuilding my rainy-day fund) and needing to physically remain in London.
All this has meant a reduction in travel, leading to much fewer posts than before. The travelling I do do now, more often than not, includes a companion, so I’m no longer the “solo wayfarer” that I was before. All this to say, that things change as life progresses.
One other big lifestyle change that I’ve made over the last 1.5 years has been to adopt a plant-based diet. This has and will have a big impact on my future travels, and thus what I blog about. This lifestyle is still fairly new for me, especially when travelling, so I don’t fully know how the blog will change in line with this. The one thing I would like to introduce however, are specific resources to help fellow vegan / plant-based diet travellers, if only because I know I’d appreciate such tips and advice when I do research for my trips. 🙂
Having said that, there will be a balance to be struck, as a big part of travelling is experiencing different cultures, and food is obviously a huge part of that. Also, as my travel companions more often than not, do not follow my food / diet choices, I will still be in contact with a broad range of food, and will continue blogging about all aspects of the different countries and cultures I get to know.
I’m super excited about this, and really do hope that this will come in useful for my readers, new and old! I’ll end it here for now, but I will be kicking this feature off with some vegan tips for Lanzarote soon, so stay tuned!
